Planning Your First Visit

Visiting any church, for the very first time can be a touch experience. Where to go? What to wear? What time to show up? What's there for my kids? What can I expect? These and many more questions can surface. Well, we want to put you at ease. Your first visit to Second Baptist Church, we believe will be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family. We have volunteers that will greet you and hand you a bulletin containing important information and direct you in the direction you need to go. During the Worship service and beyond we want you to experience inspiring music, helpful relevant preaching and teaching, friendly people, and a place where you welcome and "at home"!

I'm Not a Baptist...Can I Still Attend?

It is our desire that Second Baptist Church would be a church for everyone that has a desire to have a relationship with God. You do not have to come from a Baptist background, or hold to any particular religious affiliation to attend service here. We are convinced that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and it is sufficient to point any sincere person to faith in Jesus Christ. If you have a desire to know God or already have a relationship with God desiring to experience His best in your life, we invite you to join us on the journey, for all of us are on a journey.

What's here for my kids?

Starting with a great nursery, there is something special for every child from birth through high school! At every service we offer safe, clean, and staffed nurseries for children up to four years old. For children in Pre-K through 6th grade there are fun, friendly, and Bible-centered classes on Sunday Morning, in addition to separate Sunday school classes for Grades 7-12. There is also Children's Church during morning message. We also have Wednesday night children's and youth classes with supper at 5:30 p.m. and  classes from 6:00-7:00 p.m. All of these ministries are staffed with friendly and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child.

How should I dress?

There is NOT a dress code for members or guest. Our ministry leaders tend to dress in more traditional "Sunday" dress- the men in a dress shirt and dress slacks or jeans, sometimes with a tie, and women in modest attire; however, our main goal is that you feel welcome and comfortable during your visit here at Second Baptist Church.

If there's something we missed!

Please give us a call, or ask someone when you arrive. Whether you're looking for a church home or new to Laclede County, we hope your first visit at Second Baptist Church will be uplifting and encouraging! We exist to worship God while serving you and your family, and we are looking forward to meeting you personally. We hope you'll feel right at home from the very first moment you step onto our church property! Let us know how we can serve you better, and we hope to meet you this Sunday!

Let us know!

Let us know you are visiting by filling out a visitors card that is in the back of the pew and dropping it in the offering plate. We will then send you more information about our church.
